Abstract Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church, founded in 1905, is located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. Its longest-serving pastor, Allan A. Hunter, led the congregation from 1926 until his retirement in 1963, but stayed actively involved until his death almost twenty years later. This collection reflects the activities of the church throughout the twentieth century, as well as the progressive ideas and religious teachings of Reverend Hunter. Abstract

The Allan Kaplan and Robert Kaplan political memorabilia collection consists of posters, ephemera, and realia documenting national and local political and campaigns. The bulk of the material dates from the late 1960s-early 1970s and documents the brothers' earliest political activism. The collection also includes later campaigns (from the 2000s) on which Robert was involved professionally.

Abstract The collection consists of Cussen's personal scrapbook pages, books and photographs pertaining to the commercial aeronautic industry from the 1930s to the 1950s, and a collection of World War I and World War II war effort posters and maps. George Cussen worked the Santa Fe Railway for eight years before a brief stint at Maddux Air Lines in 1929. From 1932 to 1940, he worked for Transcontinental and Western Airlines as a traffic manager, alternating between Los Angeles and San Francisco...

Abstract

Photographs, correspondence, ephemera pertaining to the history of Western Air Lines (Western Air Express). Charles N. James (a.k.a. James James, Jimmy James) flew the first Air mail run with Fred Kelly from Salt Lake to LA in seven hours, in 1926. He was a pilot for Western Air Express and later Vice-President in charge of operations at Western Airlines (1938-1950). He then became Security Manager with Bendix West Coast Division.
